Personal & Professional Resurrection
08.05.2010
Supported by a group of young professionals, I have founded a new non-political, non-governmental, unprofitable organization, this time in Belgrade.
Its main mission being to cherish Serbian traditional, cultural and spiritual values, the organization was founded on the day devoted to the Serbian Saint Petka, 27 October, which was adopted as St Patron’s day i.e. “krsna slava” of the association.
The idea, that has gathered creative professionals from various walks of life, was to set up the platform for cooperation with individuals, groups and organizations both in the country and abroad with the aim of better understanding of the Serbian society and bringing the Serbian cultural, scientific and spiritual heritage closer to a contemporary man.
The first project following this vision was the Easter card, a multimedia endeavor translated into six languages. Our wish was to greet all the Christians celebrating Easter on 4 April 2010. We sought to remind friends of Serbia worldwide of the true values and beauty of local and national character which has a global width and attraction.
The logo of the Serbian Center for Cooperation served as inspiration for our Easter card team. The logo represents the so called Serbian „resurrection flower“. This endemic species, known in scientific circles as Ramonda Serbica only grows in Jelashnica and Sicevacka gorge and is famous for its ability of anabiosis, i.e. this endemo-relict plant is capable of surviving long dry periods and getting alive again after being watered.
